Details: Advisor for 3rd Company, 3rd Kandak, 2nd Brigade, 205th Corps
When I deployed to Afghanistan, my brigade (4th BCT, 82nd Airborne Division) was tasked with advising the Afghan National Army and Police. US platoons were partnered with Afghan companies and US companies were partnered with Afghan kandaks (battalions). My platoon was partnered with 3rd Company, 3rd Kandak, 2nd Brigade, 205th Corps in the Shajoy District of Zabul Province. I advised the company commander and my platoon sergeant advised the first sergeant.
